Very offensive and racist comments on the UK riots

I’m in England, quite likely for some time. We came on our biennial summer holiday to see family, though for longer than normal, since it seemed as likely that war would break out over summer as at any time, and it looks like we made the right bet. Things in Israel are sufficiently grave that it would be entirely inappropriate for me to write about that using the thick layer overwrought internet humour and immature sarcasm that I rely on to mask my poverty of thought and inartfulness of expression (yes, that is a word, get bent, spellcheck).¹ So, I thought I’d write about the UK riots.

Now, that’s not to say I have some special insight on these riots because I’m currently holed up inside while marauding mobs throw cans of Stella at the pigs.² No-one is rioting where I’m staying, or anywhere remotely close to where I’m staying, because the place I’m staying isn’t a turdbucket. It’s very white, orders of magnitude whiter than an America First PAC conference, but - and here is the first lesson for people who get their news from Rightoid social media - it isn’t ‘white people’ who are rioting, still less ‘white British people’, it’s underclass screwups. Do a 23andMe on the rioters: you’re going to get a whole lot of Irish, not a little Gypsie, and probably a fair bit of coal. What you won’t find is any Norman, and the Anglo-Saxon quotient won’t be that high either. We will come back to this, but, before that, some preliminaries.

A deep sigh

The first thing to say about this is why don’t you people ever learn anything? A full decade and a half ago, Unqualified Reservations already provided, in full detail, a comprehensive explanation of why Right-Wing activism doesn’t work, why Right-Wing street activism works even less, and why violent Right-Wing Street activism works least of all. If you are a TLDR bro, various NRx writers have explained it a million different ways, in every colour of crayon. Has anything in the last 15 years remotely in any way demonstrated that Right Wing activism does work? No, at every opportunity its futility is confirmed, so why do we even have to discuss this still? Why does this even exist?

Oh, they’re going to ‘deal’ with muh treacherous elites are they? Here’s a thought, why don’t you beat yourself to death with a lead pipe? You know, you really f**king know, that the only thing this will lead to is more hate-speech legislation, more expanded powers to curb misinformation, more anti-racist training in schools. Oh, and for what it’s worth, a bunch of the people you are egging on are on their way to prison. Again, you already know this, shithead Right Wing Twitter. Why are you like this? Why aren’t you ashamed to be who you are?
